Established in 1985, Croí is a registered Irish Heart and Stroke Charity dedicated to the prevention of heart disease and stroke, saving lives, and empowering people to take control of their health and well-being. Working with individuals, families, and communities, Croí delivers programmes and services that support prevention, recovery, and long-term health improvement.
In 2012, Croí opened the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre in Galway — a state-of-the-art facility for prevention, research, education, rehabilitation, and patient support. The Centre serves as a hub for innovation in cardiovascular health and a trusted space for those living with or at risk of heart disease and stroke.
Croí also leads national advocacy efforts through Heart & Stroke Voice Ireland (HSVI), a patient, survivor, and carer-led alliance. HSVI amplifies the lived experience, ensuring that the patient and carer voice informs healthcare policy, practice, and Croí’s mission of Advocacy and Empowerment.
