I have been living well with Multiple Myeloma for a number of years. I am actively involved in the patient community as a Board member of Multiple Myeloma Ireland, through patient engagement work with Myeloma Patients Europe and the Dublin Multiple Myeloma Support Group. I have completed the Myeloma Patients Europe Advocacy Development Programme.
I had a successful and satisfactory career in the healthcare sector, including working as an Assistant National Director in Acute services in the HSE and as Head of an Acute Hospital Policy Unit in the Department of Health, where I gained extensive experience in public acute sector policy planning and funding.
Following my decision to retire from full-time employment I have been working in interesting part-time roles in Cardiovascular and Myeloma Research Project Management.
