Dr. Mike O’Callaghan is a GP in Co. Limerick, and Clinical Lead in the Research, Policy and Information Department at the Irish College of GPs. A former engineer with a PhD in health data from the University of Limerick, his research work focuses on GP workload, workforce planning, and access to EMR data to support better patient care. He contributes to the national GPIT programme and advocates for integrating general practice data into a connected, patient-centred health system. Mike brings a pragmatic perspective on EMR governance, interoperability, and ensuring digital tools serve all stakeholders effectively.
