Shane Ryan is Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA), bringing more than 25 years of experience across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.

Prior to joining IPHA, Shane served as General Manager of Takeda Ireland for more than seven years, as part of a 16-year career with the company. Before joining Takeda, he held senior roles with Lilly and Servier.

Shane is a passionate advocate for the biopharmaceutical sector and the important role it plays in discovering, developing and delivering life-changing medicines and innovations to patients, clinicians and the communities they serve.

He is also strongly committed to ensuring the sector reflects the diversity of the patients, carers and healthcare professionals it serves. Throughout his career, Shane has actively championed initiatives that foster greater diversity, equity and inclusion across the workplace and the wider sector.
